Class Schedules

Classes meet Monday through Friday at various times between 9:00am and 1:00pm, with a minimum of 18 hours of instructor-taught class time per week.  If you are a new student (this is your first quarter studying in the 10-Week program), you will take a placement test on the first day of the program.  All students receive their class schedules on the first Monday of Week 1.  You can pick up your class schedule at 8:00 a.m. on this day. If you arrive late, you may go to the CE1 Front Desk to pick up your schedule.

Placement Test

New students take the Versant English Placement Test (VEPT) on the first day of the program.  This comprehensive, 50-minute computer test has questions to evaluate your speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Students are placed in a specific level based on their test scores. Test scores are not available to students.

Levels and Level Changes

Our program has 8 levels, ranging from fundamentals to advanced:
Level:   Fundamentals
Level 1: Beginning
Level 2: High-beginning
Level 3: Low-intermediate
Level 4: Intermediate
Level 5: High-intermediate
Level 6: Low-advanced
Level 7: Advanced

To move to the next level, you will need to get a 70% or higher in your class when you finish one quarter.  If you feel that you are not in the appropriate level, please speak to your teachers directly during the first week of class.  The staff cannot change your level.  If your teacher feels it is appropriate that you take the level change test, your teacher will arrange the test for you.
