Academic Policies
Academic Probation
A student who fails a class will be on Academic Probation the following quarter. To remain in the program, the student must 1) Pass the class s/he failed in the previous quarter, and/or 2) Show academic improvement. A student who fails the same class two quarters in a row may be disqualified from the program.
Academic Honesty
Any form of cheating, including plagiarism, will not be tolerated. Students are expected to complete their own assignments, as directed by instructors. The first time a student is caught cheating or helping someone cheat, that student may receive a '0' on that assignment without the possibility of making up the assignment. The second time a student is caught cheating, the student is required to meet with an academic advisor. The third time a student is caught cheating, the student may be disqualified from the program.

Communication/Electronic Devices Policy
- No recording (audio, video, photos) is allowed in class.
- All electronic communication devices must be silenced and put away in a bag or other place -- out of sight and away from the individual. This is our “Off-and-Away” policy.
- Penalties for using a communication device or having it disturb the class are:
- 1st offense: warning
- 2nd offense: student may be asked to leave class for the day and is required to meet an Academic Advisor
- 3rd offense: student may be disqualified from the program
Statement of Understanding
This is our Statement of Understanding (SOU) presentation that explains our academic policies. Each student will be asked to sign the Statement of Understanding form to show that he/she understands our policies. You can download the form at the bottom of this page.
